The vehicle delivery took place within the framework of the program "The Government in the Provinces," as part of President Luis Abinader's commitment to expand and improve pre-hospital care services throughout the national territory.

"The delivery of this ambulance focuses on strengthening health services, not only in Cotuí, but throughout the province of Sánchez Ramírez. As the Ministry of Energy and Mines, we have a duty to pay special attention to this municipal district, due to its importance within the country's mining activity," said Santos, during the act held at the headquarters of the Municipal District Board of Zambrana Abajo. The official emphasized that Zambrana is among the most relevant mining communities in the Dominican Republic and recalled that mining exports closed last year at US$2.6 billion, equivalent to 18% of total national exports. He also highlighted that foreign direct investment (FDI) in the sector exceeded US$500 million, positioning it as the third most economically relevant sector, with tax contributions to the State of more than RD$45,000 million and salary levels that double the national average. However, Santos emphasized that this macroeconomic impact should be more strongly reflected in the territories where mining activity takes place. "We must continue to support, from the local authorities and the Ministry of Energy and Mines, the mining communities, so that the benefits generated by this activity are increasingly translated into local development, social welfare and better services for their people," he pointed out. The ambulance was received by the mayor of the municipal district of Zambrana Abajo, Sixto Santana; the senator of the province of Sánchez Ramírez, Ricardo de los Santos, and the deputy Sadoky Duarte, who thanked the delivery of the vehicle and highlighted that it will strengthen the response capacity to emergencies for the residents of Zambrana and neighboring communities. The director general of Mining, Rolando Muñoz, also participated in the event; the regional coordinator of the DAEH, Natinel Rodríguez; the district councilor Marisol Torres, as well as local authorities and officials from the Ministry of Energy and Mines.
