Man arrested for simulating robbery at Higüey bank branch

La Altagracia.- The National Police reported that a man was arrested after entering unarmed into a Banco Popular branch, located in Higüey, with the alleged intention of committing a robbery, an act that was immediately controlled thanks to the implementation of protocols, the actions of security personnel and police officers.

The spokesperson for the law enforcement institution, Colonel Diego Pesqueira, explained that as soon as the alert was received, police officers went to the scene to place the named Yeneuri Mesa under custody, without any personal or material damage to anyone. He also confirmed that the detainee was not carrying any type of firearm or sharp object at the time of the incident.

The National Police specified that the incident occurred around noon and highlighted the effective response of the bank's security personnel, who applied the established protocols for this type of situation.
