Santo Domingo- Based on the evidence presented by the Public Ministry, a judge in Santo Domingo Oeste imposed three months of preventive detention, as a coercive measure, on a man accused of adulteration, falsification, and illicit production of alcoholic beverages in his residence, located in the Bella Colinas sector of Manoguayabo.
During the processing, Alberto Lima García was found to have dozens of bottles with labels of different registered brands, containing adulterated alcohol inside. The product was seized during a raid led by the Public Ministry, the National Intelligence Directorate (Dintel), and the Specialized Corps for Fuel Control and Merchandise Trade (Cecom). Prosecutor Anyelina Vicioso detailed in the coercion measure request that the search was carried out on April 24 at the residence of the accused, on Central Street S/N Avenida del Este, of the aforementioned sector, where they found instruments for the packaging, manipulation, falsification and adulteration of alcoholic beverages. Vicioso indicated that, in the two-story house, on the second level, the accused had a clandestine collection center in operation, where eight gallons of a liquid, presumably alcohol, were seized, in addition to several gallons of a brown-colored liquid, a plastic meter, as well as thousands of labels, caps and empty bottles of different recognized brands of whiskey, rum and tequila.
