Man dies after being attacked with machetes in San Francisco de Macorís

San Francisco de Macorís. – A man died this Monday morning while receiving medical attention at a health center in this city, after having been attacked with a bladed weapon in an incident that occurred on Sunday night in the Ventura Grullón sector. The victim was identified as Yoel Polanco López, who, according to preliminary information, had been attacked with machetes by several people who have not yet been arrested. The incident occurred in the Ventura Grullón sector, in Duarte province, where the young man was seriously injured and was transferred to a hospital, where he later died while receiving medical assistance. According to the version offered by the deceased's father, the alleged aggressors would be a man known as "El Rayo" and his sons, with whom the victim had previously had personal conflicts. The lifeless body of Polanco López was taken to the local morgue for the corresponding procedures and its subsequent release to the family members.

Meanwhile, the National Police reported that it has initiated investigations to clarify the circumstances of the event and find those responsible. According to preliminary data, the deceased was listed in police files for alleged links to various criminal acts, an aspect that is also part of the ongoing investigations.
