Los Angeles.- Pop star Miley Cyrus received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this Friday, which "represents the immortality" of her legacy, in a ceremony that was attended by actress Anya Taylor-Joy and renowned fashion designer Donatella Versace.
"My father used to say that a skyscraper begins with a jackhammer. And the same goes for a star on the Walk of Fame!", celebrated the American star during an acceptance speech for the number 2,845 star, which was placed in front of the Los Angeles headquarters of the popular Madame Tussauds wax museum chain, one of the busiest streets in Los Angeles.
Cyrus remembered one of the songs in his repertoire titled 'Walk of Fame', which precisely honors this famous boulevard, and whose closing ends with the mantra, "you will live forever".
"Although I love the lyrics, the fact that I won't do it (be immortal) is what creates the urgency that ignites my heart. My life, my art, and my desire to break down the walls of any box in which we have been tricked into believing exists," she added.
A career marked by success
During the event, both the Buenos Aires-raised actress and the celebrated designer and one of the best friends of the Cyrus family praised her ability to "do whatever you want, without asking anyone's permission."
"We're not just celebrating a race, we're celebrating a woman who taught an entire generation to take ownership of their own stories," said Taylor-Joy.
