La Vega.- The National Police reported that the minor with initials Y.G.P., 12 years old, residing in the Barrio Lindo sector of the city of La Vega, who had been reported missing through a publication on social media, was found safe and sound, without a formal complaint to the authorities.

After viewing said publication, members of the Regional Sub-Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Dicrim) initiated the corresponding investigations. At 12:39 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026, the regional sub-director, Lieutenant Colonel Melvin Nin Peña, P. N., contacted the minor's mother, who confirmed that the child had already been located.

According to the mother's statements, the minor left his residence for a nearby educational center; however, she was later notified by the school that he did not show up for classes, which is why she began to verify his whereabouts.

This version was confirmed after communication with the authorities, and the mother proceeded to move to the place to look for him. The National Police reported that the minor is in good health and under the care of his mother, so the case was declared resolved, without any situations that put his physical integrity at risk being recorded.
