Jerusalem.– Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded this Sunday to the official recognition of the Palestinian state by the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia, stating that “There will be no Palestinian state” and announcing that he will continue the expansion of settlements in the occupied territories.

“My message is clear to leaders who recognize a Palestinian state after the terrible massacre of October 7: you are giving a huge reward to terrorism,” Netanyahu declared in a message broadcast via social media.

The Israeli head of government was blunt: "It will not happen. There will be no Palestinian state west of the Jordan." Furthermore, he recalled that under his leadership the settlements in Judea and Samaria (the name Israel uses for the West Bank) "have doubled" and promised to maintain that line.

"The response to this recent attempt to impose a terrorist state on the heart of our land will be given when I return from the United States. Wait," he added.

Netanyahu's statement comes after the coordinated announcement from London, Ottawa, and Canberra, which confirmed their formal recognition of Palestine as a state, a step that had been expected for months and that comes on the eve of an international summit at the UN promoted by France and Saudi Arabia to reactivate the two-state solution.

Although more than 150 countries in the world already recognize the State of Palestine, the decision of these three G7 members represents a symbolic gesture of great diplomatic weight, which is expected to be joined soon by seven other countries, including France.
