Washington.- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday that if they had not attacked Iran immediately, in "a matter of months" the Persian country would have an "immune nuclear program.  Netanyahu justified the joint military operation with the United States against Iran over the weekend, saying that Tehran was building underground bunkers in new locations for its nuclear program, during an interview with Fox News.  The Israeli leader stated that, following the attacks against nuclear facilities and the Iranian ballistic missile program, the regime showed no signs of retreat. "One would think they learned their lesson, but it wasn't so, because they are incorrigible. They are totally fanatical with the goal of destroying the United States," he declared.

During the interview, Netanyahu emphasized that during a meeting with President Donald Trump at his home in Florida, before assuming the presidency in 2025, the Republican was emphatic about the need to "stop Iran." The Israeli leader pointed out that he does not expect a war that will last indefinitely and that he hopes this will bring a "lasting peace". Tonight, Iran carried out various attacks against Israeli targets and US embassies, such as the one located in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. For their part, U.S. military operations in the region will be put on trial in the Senate this Tuesday, when congressmen seek to reduce the president's war powers.
