The Judicial Branch issued nine months of preventive prison against Víctor Bravo, a 20-year-old Venezuelan citizen, for the alleged commission of the crime of qualified homicide in the degree of attempt to the detriment of a five-year-old girl.
The incident occurred on May 25th on Los Topacios street, in the Lima district of San Martín de Porres (SMP), when the minor was riding a scooter with her parents after leaving her school.
According to the investigation by the North Lima Criminal Flagrancy Prosecutor's Office, Bravo attacked without a word and kicked the girl in the head, causing her to fall to the ground and alarming those present. Witnesses reported that the aggressor tried to continue the aggression and confronted other passersby until being subdued by neighbors and personnel from Serenazgo de SMP. Shortly after, the subject was taken into custody to the Cayetano Heredia hospital due to injuries sustained during the citizen intervention. Police investigations were taken over by the Sol de Oro police station, which formalized the detention at the health center. Subsequently, the Public Prosecutor's Office presented the main elements of conviction to the Judiciary: the police report, the intervention report, the minor's legal medical certificate, witness statements, and security camera records. The case is in charge of the provincial prosecutor Beatriz Monroy Castillo. We recommend reading: Noboa tells Colombian candidate Abelardo de la Espriella that he will lift tariffs on June 1st

"It was achieved that nine months of preventive prison be dictated against the foreigner Víctor Bravo for the alleged commission of the crime of qualified homicide in the degree of attempt," specified the Public Ministry in a statement. Authorities are also investigating reports of other violent episodes involving the accused in the same area, based on the testimony of neighbors and shopkeepers. The minor's health condition remains under medical and family monitoring, while the Prosecutor's Office coordinates protection measures for the family.
