Rains cause urban floods in Greater Santo Domingo

Santo Domingo.- The rains recorded on the afternoon of this Tuesday began to generate urban flooding in different parts of Greater Santo Domingo, affecting the transit and mobility of drivers and pedestrians. Among the affected areas are San Martín Avenue, in the National District, as well as José Jiménez and 17th streets, in Santo Domingo Este, where water began to accumulate as a result of the rainfall.

In several of these spots, drivers slowed down due to the water level on the roads, while residents watched as some streets began to flood after the rains recorded during the afternoon.

Rainfall occurs amid reports of showers over different areas of Greater Santo Domingo and other provinces of the country. So far, the authorities have not reported any major situations, although surveillance is maintained in the face of possible water accumulation in vulnerable sectors of the capital and Santo Domingo East.
