RTVD Institute graduates 342 students in different areas of television and communication

Santo Domingo.– The RTVD Institute held its second graduation ceremony corresponding to the three academic quarters of the year 2025, where a total of 342 students who completed technical and specialized training programs in areas related to communication, television, audiovisual production and digital tools. The ceremony was led by the president of the Board of Directors of Radio Televisión Dominicana, Ellis Pérez; the general director of RTVD, Iván Ruiz and the director of the Institute, Leo Silverio. Ruiz highlighted the institution's commitment to training new talents and strengthening the Dominican audiovisual industry.

“This Institute, which is an idea we had before entering here, I always envisioned it, there is no obstacle that can defeat us when one focuses, you don't always have to have a large budget to achieve great things like this, whoever produces the best content, those that make a difference, that stand out, those who are willing to dare, to break the mold, are the ones who will go much further,” Ruiz expressed during his central words at the ceremony.

The graduates were trained in a total of 17 technical courses endorsed by INFOTEP, including TV Driving, Floor Coordinator, Digital Journalism and Artificial Intelligence, News Writing, Series Scriptwriting, DaVinci Colorization, Digital Marketing, Basic Makeup, Voiceover, DaVinci Resolve, TV Assistant, Basic Script, Basic TV Production, TV Lighting and Journalism for TV. "I congratulate you on the progress and training you have had on this second occasion, you as students have taken advantage of the initiative that has been responsible for making this so, because there was no training institute for this type of work, training and capacity building is what gives the opportunity to develop to move forward, for the individual and family good, only those who prepare to give more receive more," said Don Ellis Pérez.

Leo Silverio, the institute's director, maintained that the 342 television professionals will be the new faces of the programs, the new producers, sound engineers, lighting technicians and the new editors, with them, a new cycle in national television opens.

“Dominican Radio Television currently has 35 interns, including professionals and beginners, who want to increase their knowledge in the practical entity of a modern and quality television, this number of interns represents the largest number of apprentices in any channel in the country,” said Silverio.

On behalf of the graduates, Elianny Toribio, who trained in the basic TV Production course, said she felt happy, joyful, and pleased to have been trained under this modality, thanked the institute RTVD and its director for having ensured that each of these courses were carried out for the benefit of so many young people from low-income backgrounds who, like her, are eager to learn and continue training.
