Supérate and Conape enable 71 caregivers for older adults in Azua

Azua.– The Supérate and the National Council of the Elderly Person (Conape) held the act of enabling 71 caregivers of older adults in the province of Azua, as part of the actions aimed at strengthening local networks of care and home care. The activity corresponded to the fourth cohort of caregivers trained through a training program offered by the National Institute for Technical Professional Training. During the event, the general director of Supérate, Mayra Jiménez, reaffirmed the commitment to continue promoting public care policies that guarantee rights and generate employment opportunities.

On his part, the CEO of Conape, Demetrio Vicente, highlighted that the habilitation of these 71 people represents an important step to expand the capacity of home care in the province. “We know that protecting older adults involves building permanent, close-knit, and organized services, with trained personnel and a rights-based approach”, she stated.

Senator Lía Díaz of Azua valued the importance of strengthening the national care policy and highlighted the human and social commitment involved in assisting elderly people. The authorities explained that the participants completed a technical training process and supervised internships to develop skills in home care and attention under quality standards and institutional support. The initiative is part of the care policy promoted by the Dominican State, with the purpose of guaranteeing the right to care and advancing towards the consolidation of the National Care System. The event took place in the Event Hall of the Provincial Government of Azua, with the presence of representatives from Supérate, Conape, Infotep, and local authorities.
