“There can't be a strong country without strong Armed Forces,” says President Abinader

Santo Domingo. – President Luis Abinader affirmed this Sunday that the Dominican Republic today has more modern Armed Forces, better equipped and with higher levels of salary and social dignity, when heading the inauguration of remodeled facilities of the Ministry of Defense. Abinader highlighted that the conditions of military personnel have changed significantly in recent years, pointing out improvements in both income, benefits, and opportunities received by soldiers. "From the point of view of income and profits, the Armed Forces have advanced, and still deserve more," the president said.

The president assured that the country now has military forces "at the level of the circumstances", equipped with new vehicles, technology, and operational capabilities necessary to respond to current challenges. During his intervention, Abinader congratulated General Onofre and the team that has been leading the transformation processes, stating that "the Dominican people can feel safe today" thanks to the work carried out by the military forces. "There cannot be a strong country without strong Armed Forces. And today, the Dominican Republic has Armed Forces that respond to the needs of the country," he stated. The Head of State reiterated that his government will continue to support military modernization, strengthening operational capacity and improving the working and human conditions of the men and women who serve in the armed forces.
