Santo Domingo. - According to the Dominican Republic's Meteorology Institute (INDOMET), this Wednesday during the morning hours, some morning showers will be recorded in La Altagracia, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís, Santo Domingo, among other nearby provinces.
For the afternoon, these precipitations will be accompanied by isolated thunderstorms and possible wind gusts in Monte Plata, La Vega, Duarte, San Juan, Santiago and Santiago Rodríguez, as a result of wind drag and local effects (daytime heating and orographic). However, in the rest of the country, a sunny and gray-looking sky will prevail, due to slight particles of Sahara dust.
For tomorrow, Thursday, we will continue under a not very humid environment, with the incursion of Saharan dust particles, which will limit rainfall in almost the entire national territory, observing a mostly sunny and slightly gray sky. However, a trough in the upper levels of the troposphere will favor the occurrence of some local showers with isolated thunderstorms and occasional wind gusts in Monte Plata, La Vega, San Juan, Elías Piña, Dajabón, among other neighboring provinces, especially in the afternoon until the early hours of the night.
The INDOMET National Forecast Center maintains meteorological alert levels, due to the risk of urban flooding, possible rises in rivers, streams and ravines.
