Washington.— The President of the United States, Donald Trump, reported that a “enormous fleet” of US military ships is heading towards the region near Iran, amid a context of growing political and social tensions in the Islamic Republic.
The statements were offered by the president during an exchange with the press, where he assured that his Government is closely monitoring the situation and that the naval deployment responds to a preventive measure, in the face of possible scenarios of greater instability.
"We have a lot of boats going in that direction, just in case. Maybe we won't have to use them," Trump said, referring to the mobilization of the U.S. Navy.
