Milton Morrison's opposition to signing a new contract with Dekolor, in compliance with the law, unleashed a barrage of harassment and blackmail

Carlos Pimentel says Morrison refused a new addendum with the company Dekolor

Santo Domingo.– The general director of Public Procurement, Carlos Pimentel, assured that Intrant's refusal to sign a new addendum with Dekolor and its decision to call for bids for the issuance of licenses, unleashed a true wave of judicial harassment, pressure and blackmail, in order to prevent the new process.

He specified that the head of Intrant, Milton Morrison refused at all times and with great firmness, to the extension of the contract, proceeding to open a new process. "Milton was determined not to sign the addendum they were proposing, I supported that position and told him Milton you cannot sign that addendum, it doesn't matter if the license service expires, I even told him, if we have to go without a license because the contract has expired, we will, but we cannot sign and Milton showed a lot of firmness," Pimentel highlighted. He explained that the process of the new bidding was in the execution stage, but it was stopped until next Monday, July 14, due to an amparo appeal filed by the representatives of the Dekolor company before the Superior Administrative Court (TSA). In that sense, he said he hoped that the judges of the TSA will issue a decision based on common sense, objectivity, and legality. Pimentel revealed that the overseers and all those linked to the bidding process are receiving judicial intimations, as the aim is not to reach a happy ending, "and we would be at the mercy of those who want others." The official spoke on the program "El Día" on Telesistema Canal 11. The company Dekolor, S.R.L. was in charge of issuing driver's licenses; however, during the review of the contract and its addenda, inconsistencies related to prices and contracted services were identified. In addition, payments made on the basis of addenda that were not registered in the system were detected. The case was referred to the Attorney General's Office for the determination of responsibilities and the application of the sanctions provided for by law.
