LOS ANGELES – Quinn Priester didn't need help from the bullpen to solve the first game of the second half of the season. With a dominant performance at Dodger Stadium, the right-hander guided the Milwaukee Brewers to a 2-0 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers, thus extending the team's winning streak to eight consecutive games.

Priester worked six impeccable innings, allowing only three hits, no walks, and striking out 10 batters, one short of his personal best. He used an effective mix of sinkers, cutters, and sliders to completely control the powerful Los Angeles lineup. Between sinkers and cutters, he generated 10 of the 12 missed swings of the night, while his fastball velocity was above the usual average.

Before the game, Brewers manager Pat Murphy publicly questioned whether his starter could handle the challenge against the Dodgers. In the end, he not only held up, he exceeded expectations.

“Are we really going to think Priester can pitch six innings against this lineup?”, Murphy wondered hours before the game. “Well, it turned out he could”.

Milwaukee's offense found its opportune moment in the fifth inning, when Caleb Durbin hit a 108.8 mph double down the left field line to drive in Isaac Collins with the first run of the game. Later, Durbin himself extended the lead with a solo home run to center field, sealing the definitive advantage.

Tyler Glasnow, Dodgers' starting pitcher, also had a good outing, but his team's minimal offensive production wasn't enough to reverse the score.

With this victory, the Brewers consolidate their good form and establish themselves as one of the most in-form teams in the National League. Looking ahead to the July 31st Trade Deadline, performances like Priester's could directly influence the decisions of the Milwaukee management.
