São Paulo.- Eight people died in an accident involving three vehicles on a highway in the municipality of Guaxupé, in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, as reported this Monday by the Fire Department.
The accident occurred during the night of this Sunday, when a vehicle with five occupants collided head-on with a motorcycle carrying two people, according to the fire department's statement.
After the impact, the vehicle lost control and collided with a third car with two people on board.
The death of the two motorcyclists, the two passengers of the impacted car, and four people traveling aboard the vehicle that initiated the accident was confirmed.

The fifth passenger, a 12-year-old minor, was taken to a medical center after being found conscious at the scene of the accident. According to the note released by the firefighters, while the incident was being attended to, a van driving on the highway collided with one of the vehicles and ran over two people who were assisting the victims.
