Dominican Republic and OECD to create the First National Integrity Strategy

The Dominican Republic began work this Monday with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), with the aim of impacting areas of public service such as the health sector, education, security and the municipality in a cross-cutting manner.

These works aim to continue the process of developing the First National Public Integrity Strategy of the Dominican Republic, through bilateral meetings, strategic workshops, and dialogue spaces with key actors from the public sector, civil society, and international organizations.

The general director of Ethics and Governmental Integrity, Dr. Milagros Ortiz Bosch, highlighted the importance of the participation of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in the Dominican Republic, emphasizing that this accompaniment strengthens the fight against corruption and raises governance standards in the country.

The opening of the Third OECD-DR Mission took place in the National Congress and was attended by the general director of Ethics and Governmental Integrity (DIGEIG), Dr. Milagros Ortiz Bosch, as well as representatives of the different powers of the State and Justice.

During the meeting, OECD representatives Juan Camilo Ceballos and Frederick Boehm explained to the participants the steps to be followed to achieve each of the objectives proposed by the country within the framework of the work with each of the participating entities.

The 5 essential points that will be addressed with the OECD representatives have to do with: The creation of a national integrity system, the strengthening of the culture of integrity in the public sector, promotion of culture, strengthening of risk management and internal and external auditing in the Dominican Republic.
