La Vega.– A distressing event occurred early this Tuesday morning in the community of Caimito Afuera, in La Vega, when an unknown and hooded individual set fire to a house while its occupants were inside.
According to the owner's account, Yahaira Fernández, the incident occurred around 3:00 in the morning, when the attacker threw a bottle with burning gasoline at a vehicle that was parked in the roofed area of the residence.

"My reaction was to grab my son and call my father, who got scared because he is an elderly man of 80 years old, and run away, trying to save our lives," said Fernández, visibly affected by what happened. So far, the authorities are investigating the case to identify the person responsible and clarify the circumstances in which the fire occurred.
