The Dominican Association of the Electrical Industry (ADIE) reiterated that for years it has insisted on the importance of energy planning as an essential element for the security, sustainability, and efficiency of the national electrical system. This call has been constant and seeks to break the vicious circle that has historically limited the ability to anticipate and respond to the growth of demand.
In this regard, ADIE clarified that the recent statements do not refer to the current government period, on the contrary, it was pointed out that the management of President Luis Abinader has taken the necessary and timely measures to face the challenge of the sustained increase in electricity demand.
The entity particularly highlighted the realization of short and long-term tenders for new energy generation, which constitute a firm step in the right direction and an essential component of the planning that the country needs.
These actions set an important and positive precedent that strengthens energy security and promotes sustainable development, allowing the Dominican Republic to have a diversified, competitive generation park, prepared to respond to the country's economic and social growth.
ADIE also reiterated its commitment to collaborate with the authorities and all actors in the sector in the construction of a modern, resilient and planned electrical system, capable of satisfying the present and future needs of Dominicans.
