The director of DIDA, Elías Báez, requested the urgent modification of the affiliation form of the Pension Fund Administrators (AFP) to include in them the data of the dependents of the affiliates up to the fourth generation or where appropriate the pension benefits or return of contributions to legal heirs.

Báez indicated that the objective of this measure is to allow AFPs to contact the relatives of deceased affiliates immediately and efficiently, eliminating the obstacles that prevent access to the survivor's pension and/or the return of contributions to legal heirs.

"It is very necessary for the Pension Fund Administrators to expedite the process of contacting the relatives of deceased affiliates, to reduce the obstacles to accessing survivor pension and/or refund benefits and, above all, to improve the management of resources and benefits for affiliates and their dependents," said the official.

He recalled that currently more than 8 billion pesos are in the coffers of the AFPs, corresponding to more than 117 thousand accounts of deceased affiliates, so the application of said measure is very important to ensure that the benefits reach the legal heirs in a timely manner.

Elías Báez highlighted that to correct this distortion, DIDA has guided more than 20,300 people in fifteen days, whose deceased relatives left more than 153 million pesos in AFP accounts.

It announced that the number of assistance calls increases every day through the phone 809-472-1900, available 24 hours a day, the online chat www.dida.gob.do, the emails info@dida.gob.do / ssl@dida.gob.do and social media @Didardo, as well as in person at 16 offices nationwide and 6 GOB points.
