Boca Chica.- By accepting the request of the Prosecutor's Office of Santo Domingo East and North, a court sentenced a woman to 10 years in prison for attempting to travel from Las Américas International Airport to Paris, France, with 4.28 kilograms of cocaine, in an event recorded in 2021. During the trial, the Public Prosecutor's Office presented the court with sufficient evidence to support the criminal responsibility of Ana Jesús Jaime Oyola, of Ecuadorian nationality, in international drug trafficking. It is highlighted that, while their luggage was passing through the X-ray machine, airport service members observed suspicious images in one of their pieces of luggage, which is why they proceeded to carry out a search, in which they found two sheets composed of a white powder, inside a backpack, which turned out to be cocaine hydrochloride, weighing 4.28 kilograms. The sentence must be served by Jaime Oyola at the Najayo Women's Correction and Rehabilitation Center.
