Several students affected by pesticides at La Guama school

San Francisco de Macorís.- Several children were poisoned this Thursday at the Ana Celeste Fernández educational center, located in the community of La Guama, after a strong pesticide smell was perceived in different areas of the school campus. According to reports, upon detecting the stench, the educational authorities proceeded to evacuate the students; however, several minors were already experiencing dizziness, nausea, and other symptoms of poisoning.

The affected children were immediately transferred to different local health centers, where they are receiving medical care under the supervision of specialized personnel. Parents and family members expressed great concern about what happened and demanded a thorough investigation to prevent similar situations from happening again. Community members and family members reiterated the call to representatives of the ministries of Public Health and Education to intervene urgently and guarantee the safety of students in the school premises.
