Dominican Republic projects democratic, economic, and security leadership in the Concordia 2025 global forum

New York. – The Dominican Republic once again placed itself at the center of international conversation with the participation of President Luis Abinader in the Concordia 2025 Summit, in a dialogue entitled “A Conversation with H.E. Luis Abinader, President of the Dominican Republic”, developed on the East Stage under the axis of Democracy, Security and Geopolitical Risk. During the conversation, the Dominican head of state highlighted the progress made by the country in institutional stability, poverty reduction, and attracting foreign investment in sectors such as tourism, free zones, medical devices, and cigars, consolidating one of the fastest-growing economies in Latin America. "The great achievement of the Dominican Republic is that we have advanced in economic growth, but also in social justice, reducing poverty and guaranteeing strong and independent democratic institutions. That balance is what has given us stability and social peace," said President Abinader. The president also referred to the situation in Haiti, reiterating that the international community cannot remain indifferent to the violence of armed gangs in the neighboring country. He pointed out that "it is not about negotiation, but about confronting and defeating those groups with the force of the international community, to liberate the Haitian people and allow them to begin a path of development." The session was led by Nicholas Logothetis, co-founder and chairman of the Concordia Council, who stated: "The Dominican Republic's leadership in democracy and security offers a valuable lesson for all of Latin America. Its model of political dialogue and openness to the world is a benchmark in the region." President Abinader's participation in Concordia 2025 reaffirms the Dominican Republic's international positioning as a country that combines economic development with political stability, projecting a voice of leadership in the major global debates on democracy, security, and international cooperation.
