This Tuesday, occasional showers and hot weather are expected.

Santo Domingo. - According to the Dominican Republic's Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET), during the morning of this Tuesday, a large part of the country will remain clear, with only widely isolated showers expected towards the southwestern Caribbean coast, associated with the cloudiness transported by the wind.

But in the afternoon, large areas of the national territory will continue under a clear sky and hot environment, due to the effects of a high-pressure system over our area. Likewise, some cloud increases could occur, generated by the afternoon heat, with some showers and thunderstorms expected over towns in: Pedernales, Elías Piña, San José de Ocoa, La Vega, Santiago, San Juan, Santiago Rodríguez, Dajabón, the coastal area of Hato Mayor and El Seibo, among other neighboring locations, which will disappear at the beginning of the night.

However, by Wednesday, the high-pressure system will continue to limit cloud cover over much of the Dominican territory. Nevertheless, a trough will add to the daytime heating and the interaction of the wind with the terrain's orography, to cause heavy showers in isolated points, thunderstorms and wind gusts towards provinces in the northwest, north, the Central Mountain Range and the border area, especially over: Santiago, Santiago Rodríguez, Dajabón, Valverde, the northern part of San Juan and Elías Piña, among other bordering provinces, during the afternoon and the early hours of the night.

Maritime recommendations on the Atlantic coast due to the powerful Hurricane Humberto.

On Thursday, a morning with little cloud cover is forecast over the national territory. The afternoon, however, will become rainy towards provinces of the Cibao, the Central Mountain Range and the border area, where locally moderate to heavy showers, thunderstorms and wind gusts are forecast, especially towards Santiago, Valverde, Santiago Rodríguez, La Vega, San Juan and Elías Piña due to the incidence of a trough and local effects.
