Edesur bills RD$46 million for illegal connections

The company recovers up to 2,930 kWh of electrical energy in actions against electrical fraud

Santo Domingo.- Edesur Dominicana managed to bill, in just 10 months, more than 46 million pesos through the normalization of users who were fraudulently connected to the distribution network. From January to October of the current year, 340 fraud reports were filed and 383 conciliation agreements were reached, which allowed the distributor to recover 2,929,910 kWh of electrical energy and bill RD$46,092,703.21. The indicators show a sustained increase in the detection of electricity fraud, thanks to the hard work carried out by the company's technical and legal teams. The reactivation of the Telemetry Control Center (CCT) is among the actions in energy recovery management and aims to reduce losses efficiently, allowing the rapid detection of anomalies and fraud, as well as control of recidivism.

From January to September of this year, the distributor carried out 241,000 actions against illegal connections, encouraging normalization and contributing to improve operational efficiency and reduce technical losses. Additionally, the company is immersed in a sanitation plan for the modules for the prepaid service that has contributed to streamlining the supply and increasing the number of people who purchase energy under this modality. Edesur Dominicana urges citizens to report irregularities and to continue collaborating in the normalization processes as a way to contribute to strengthening the sustainability of the electrical system.
