Shakira makes history with her residency in Central America: sells out dates in less than 24 hours

Shakira, one of the world's most influential Latin artists, puts her signature on a new milestone for the regional entertainment industry by selling out the three dates of her residency in Central America in less than 24 hours. Through Instagram, the Colombian artist celebrated the sold out and hinted that she has more surprises in store. "Our residency in Central America started off on the right foot! Incredible to know that the three concerts are already sold out. I will bring you new surprises. See you soon, my dear Central America!" Shakira affirmed. The massive response from the public was undeniable after the official ticket sales began on December 17th. Users on social media had reported virtual queues of up to four hours of waiting to purchase tickets in the various available sectors. Ticket prices ranged from $45 to $275. The Central American leg of the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour has been described as a high-level technical and artistic staging. The performances are scheduled for the days February 12, 14 and 15 at the Jorge “Mágico” González National Stadium, which is preparing to receive more than 82,000 fans from multiple countries in the region. According to the official material, the technical production of the residency includes one of the most advanced stages on the international circuit, with a main screen 49 meters wide by 9.6 meters high and a resolution of 6.6 million pixels. The setup incorporates more than 93 tons of high-tech equipment, artificial intelligence effects for digital recreations of the artist, catwalks with LED floors and mobile platforms, as well as CGI interludes and interactive elements, such as the iconic wolf avatar that represents part of the visual identity of the show.

Impact in El Salvador

Salvadoran authorities and entertainment experts highlighted the boost that this musical residency represents for the country's commercial and tourism sectors. In this type of format, the artist concentrates multiple dates in the same territory to amplify the reach of the live show. Thus, this approach motivates fans to mobilize, travel, and fosters cultural integration between neighboring countries. It is projected that the event will generate around $25 million in terms of total economic impact, derived from activities such as logistics, trade, transportation, security, and tourism services. In this context, the creation of approximately 4,000 direct jobs and 7,000 indirect jobs is estimated, benefiting sectors directly linked to the organization and execution of the event, as well as those preparing for the increase in national and foreign visitors. The Minister of Tourism, Morena Valdez, emphasized that the country has already demonstrated its hotel capacity in December with an increase in visitors, and that this behavior will continue during the concert dates. Valdez confirmed that a 100% hotel occupancy is projected in San Salvador during the nights of the shows, in part thanks to the arrival of fans from Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica and Nicaragua. This scheme had already proven its effectiveness in Mexico City, where the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour broke records with 12 consecutive performances at the Estadio GNP Seguros, and a new date was added due to popular demand. The tour, recognized by Billboard as the Latin tour of the year and the most lucrative in history for a Latin artist, reached a global gross of 327.4 million dollars, with more than 2.5 million tickets sold and more than 80 shows confirmed so far.
