Unknown individuals kill married couple in Constanza and flee in victims' vehicle

Constanza. - On the dawn of this Sunday, January 18th, a bloody event linked to an alleged act of contract killing occurred in the municipality of Tireo, belonging to the city of Constanza, where a married couple was riddled with bullets at the moment they arrived at their home, for reasons that are still under investigation. According to preliminary data, the act of violence occurred in the carport of the couple's home, where a person allegedly hid among the bushes and waited for the couple to get out of their vehicle, where seconds later more than thirty shots were heard detonating at the scene. After the shooting, the person responsible managed to escape from the scene using the vehicle of the deceased to escape. The married couple answered to the names of Luis Manuel Batista, 55 years old, who was a farmer in the area, and the young woman to the name of María Magdalena Páez Jerez, 35 years old. The neighbors are still in disbelief, as they considered the man to be a hardworking and peaceful person.

Multiple authorities have arrived at the scene, maintaining the area cordoned off and collecting evidence and security cameras to clarify the bloody event, while the lifeless bodies were removed by the acting medical examiner, accompanied by representatives of the Public Ministry of the Preventive Police and members of the Central Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DICRIM).
