Santo Domingo.- Psychologist Gilanny Firpo expressed her concern about the difficulties faced by older people in accessing the labor market.
The participant from Planeta Alofoke highlighted that, in many cases, age becomes an obstacle both for getting a job and for performing other trades, due to the lack of opportunities.
Firpo also explained that, despite having prepared professionally, she is currently facing uncertainty, as she is unemployed after being fired from her job as a teacher.
The topic came up while sharing with participants Carlos Montesquieu and José Manuel de la Cruz, at which time he also took the opportunity to vent and recount part of his life story.
Firpo confessed that, although his path has not been easy, he still maintains dreams and aspirations, with his main goal being to ensure a stable old age.

Likewise, she expressed that she has reflected on past decisions and noted that she feels she wasted her youth due to poorly chosen marriages and wrong decisions. “The only thing I have is my attitude”, she affirmed.
She also revealed that she is the mother of three children, although two of them have passed away in difficult circumstances, a fact that deeply marked her life. In the middle of her testimony, she firmly stated: "I am tired of losing."
