“Everything was lost. If they unclog the filters and do more, things will be solved. The water has entered the house 3 times, but this time it affected me the most and it was because of the gravel they put down,” clarified a resident, stating that the last repair carried out by the authorities was the cause of the floods.
Xiomara Morillo, highlighted that although the government has sent aid consisting of food rations from the Social Plan, neither mattresses nor appliances have arrived. “We hope that now that the president came, they will fulfill their promises and truly make us the filters and send the aid. I live on the second floor and the water got in just the same”, Morillo indicated.

Licio Luciano stated that after more than 20 years residing in the sector and witnessing several interventions by the authorities, this is the first time a president has visited the sector and he hopes they will provide a definitive response. "I hope serious people do the filtering and don't steal the money. Governments have put institutions to do filtering and they don't do it well", he emphasized.In Abinader's recent visit, he instructed the mayor of the National District to work on a definitive solution to the formation of the lagoon that for more than 40 years has affected the sector after the occurrence of intense meteorological phenomena.
