For the first time in his extensive career, the star forward of the Los Angeles Lakers will participate in the All-Star game from the bench. Even so, his inclusion reaffirms his relevance in the elite of basketball, despite his more than two decades in the NBA.

In the Western Conference, James will be joined by Anthony Edwards (Timberwolves), Jamal Murray (Nuggets), Chet Holmgren (Thunder), Devin Booker (Suns) and Deni Avdija (Trail Blazers), forming a group that combines experience and young talent. Meanwhile, the Eastern reserves include Donovan Mitchell (Cavaliers), Jalen Johnson (Hawks), Karl-Anthony Towns (Knicks), Pascal Siakam (Pacers), Norman Powell (Heat), Scottie Barnes (Raptors), and Jalen Duren (Pistons).

Confirmed Headlines

In the East, the players chosen as starters were Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jalen Brunson, Cade Cunningham, Tyrese Maxey and Jaylen Brown.
For the West, Nikola Jokic, Luka Dončić, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Stephen Curry and Victor Wembanyama will start the game.

Although the selections were made by conference, the NBA will premiere this year a new format, in which the All-Stars will be distributed into two teams from the United States and one from the rest of the world, who will compete in a mini round robin tournament, before a final between the two best. LeBron James leads the historical list of All-Star Game appearances with 22 appearances, followed by Kevin Durant (16), Stephen Curry (12), Giannis Antetokounmpo (10) and Nikola Jokic (8), reaffirming his legacy as one of the most influential figures in world basketball.
