Banco Promerica República Dominicana becomes an official signatory of the United Nations Principles for Responsible Banking, a global framework to drive a sustainable banking industry, developed in collaboration with banks around the world and the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI). This commitment reflects Banco Promerica República Dominicana's determination to align its business strategy with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement on climate change, integrating sustainability as a central axis of its operations. By adhering to the Principles, the bank reaffirms its vision of leading in sustainable finance, promoting responsible practices that generate long-term value for its clients, strategic partners, shareholders, and society. Carlos Julio Camilo, Executive President of Banco Promerica República Dominicana, indicated that by joining the global community of responsible banks, the entity strengthens its leadership in sustainability, working with similar institutions to share good practices, develop innovative tools, and accelerate positive change. "We firmly believe that leading with responsibility and sustainability turns our actions into a driver of tangible impact, driving the construction of a more just, resilient, and truly sustainable future. This conviction guides every decision we make, consolidating our commitment to equitable development that benefits both current and future generations," Camilo highlighted. As part of its sustainability strategy and following the adoption of the Principles, Banco Promerica República Dominicana will identify and measure the environmental and social impact of its activities, establish concrete goals in the areas of greatest influence, and publicly report its progress periodically. This approach will allow it to anticipate risks, seize opportunities, and actively contribute to the transition towards more sustainable economies. This step represents a significant milestone at a strategic moment to face global challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution, and social inequalities. Ramiro Ortiz Gurdián, CEO of Grupo Promerica, reaffirmed this commitment with his words: "We believe that change consists of taking responsibility for transforming our environment, and we are determined to be the engine that drives sustainability in regional banking. Working together, we will ensure that every action of Grupo Promerica contributes to a better future for new generations. "Signing the Principles for Responsible Banking is not just a symbolic act; it is a commitment and for Gurpo Promerica: it is a deep expression of who we are. It is in our DNA, in the way we conceive progress, in how we chart our strategy, and in every decision we make. This commitment drives us to build a more just, sustainable, and inclusive future, wholeheartedly accompanying communities in all the countries where we are present. By becoming a signatory, Banco Promerica República Dominicana becomes the seventh Promerica Group bank to adopt the UN Principles for Responsible Banking, reaffirming our commitment to generate a positive impact on society and the environment. At the same time, as a group, we have four banks that have subscribed to the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs), strengthening our strategy of inclusion and gender equity. Similarly, and in line with our vision of sustainability, we have collectively placed more than USD 700 million in sustainable bond issuances, channeling resources towards initiatives that promote economic, social and environmental development in the region.
