President inaugurates bridge over Viajama river, which will impact more than 5,000 people

Azua.– President Luis Abinader inaugurated the bridge over the Viajama River in Azua, which will allow more than 5,000 people to travel safely and will positively impact agricultural and commercial development. With a length of 72 meters and an average width of 7.15 meters, the road benefits communities such as Vietnam, Las Tunitas, La Ceiba, Barrio Blanco, Las Yayas Abajo, México, Viajama and Padre Las Casas, among others. "This community deserves it and this way we save them travel time", expressed the Minister of Public Works, Eduardo Estrella, adding that, simultaneously, work is being done on about 15 bridges between Baní and Azua that could begin to be delivered in the coming months. Similarly, the Ministry is expediting work to recondition the streets of this municipality, making the movement of users faster, more comfortable and safer.

"Our mission is to work with the people because the community has waited for their works for a long time, and the people don't just want them to be started, they want them to be finished," Estrella highlighted.

The development of this bridge also meant the construction of sidewalks, curbs and drainage works, horizontal and vertical signage, asphalt placement, gabion walls for slope protection, widening of the cross section, earthmoving and priming irrigation. With emotion, the community members pointed out that this work represents tranquility for all communities and contributes to settling a historic debt with the municipality.
