Fans also staged spontaneous marches, waving a giant national flag and celebrating to the rhythm of drums and horns, in a display of national pride after the historic achievement.

Emotion on and off the field

The fervor in the streets reflected what had been experienced hours earlier on the playing field, where Venezuela was crowned champion after a dramatic victory over the United States. The emotion was evident among the protagonists: pitcher Daniel Palencia couldn't hold back the tears before getting the last out, while Eugenio Suárez offered statements full of feeling after the triumph. In parallel, Plaza Sadel filled with fans who watched the game on a giant screen and erupted in jubilation after the final out, extending the celebration throughout the city.

An achievement for history

The championship represents a before and after for Venezuelan baseball. Before this edition, the team had never surpassed third place in the tournament, which makes this title the greatest international achievement in its history.
