Boca Chica Arts Educational Center celebrates cultural gala “Spain on stage”

Boca Chica. – In an environment filled with art, talent, and cultural richness, the educational center in Arts of Boca Chica, Eugenio María de Hostos, held its XII Gala de Centro, under the title “Spain on stage”, a scenic proposal that highlighted Spanish traditions and cultural manifestations through various artistic expressions.

The day began with the official opening of the cultural tour in which the director of the educational center Prof. Yamilca Díaz offered the welcome speech, highlighting the importance of including and developing art and culture in the integral formation of the students.

The event included the unveiling of a bust erected to Eugenio María de Hostos, carried out by the visual arts professor Franyeline Rodríguez, as well as the presentation of various works and demonstrations that encompassed theater, dance, music, and visual arts. Among the most outstanding presentations are pieces such as “Life is a Dream,” adapted for street theater, as well as the Opening with Dance (Bulería) by Alexandra Aybar, Jenifer Calcaño, and Ariesky Castro, masters of the dance and theater modality.

Musical and dance performances such as "Ay linda amiga", "Lágrimas negras, Marinero de luces, Era mi vida" and a "Popurrí Español" were presented, among others, in addition to the exhibition of works from the areas of artisanal production, including jewelry, costume jewelry and visual arts.

Likewise, the public enjoyed a varied program on the Spanish stage, which included dances, musical performances, and recitations by students and teachers, demonstrating the talent and creativity of the students who receive teaching at that center.

The arts gala was attended by the director of the 10-05 Educational District, Hellen Barreiro Marte; the technician of Regional 10 of the Arts modality, Thomas Manzanillo; the director of the educational center, Yamilka Díaz; and the representative of the Spanish embassy, Virginia Gomilas. Also present were the regional technician Elizabeth Figueroa; the vice president of the Boca Chica Council of Councilors, Danilo Barceló; the academic coordinator of the center, Aleida Flores; and the Arts coordinator, Judith Batista.

Similarly, Licet Pool Lantigua, former director of the educational district; Juan Vidal Serrano and José Morales, president and vice president of the International Committee Pro-Aid to the municipality of Boca Chica; Jesús Naut and Víctor Castro, members of the Board of Directors of Dos Generaciones Munícipes por Boca Chica; Juan José Mejía, director of the La Ureña Educational Center; Yessica Díaz, director of the Elvira de Mendoza Educational Center and the district technicians Jenny Salobo, Wilfrido Jerome and Natividad Cuevas, among other authorities, participated.

Finally, the educational center expressed its gratitude to teachers, students, collaborators, and families for their support in the realization of this important gala, reaffirming its commitment to a comprehensive education based on art, culture, and values.
