Santiago. – The Special Fund for Agricultural Development (FEDA) and ISA University are advancing in the consolidation of a strategic alliance aimed at strengthening technological innovation, academic training, and productive development in the Dominican countryside.
During a meeting led by the director of FEDA, Hecmilio Galván, and the rector of ISA, Edwin Reyes Arias, both entities discussed joint initiatives that will benefit both students and productive communities in the country.
Galván explained that this visit is part of an agenda that includes more than 100 activities in the province of Santiago, focused on promoting entrepreneurship, agrotourism, and sustainability in the agricultural sector.
Among the projected actions, the FEDA's support for university programs related to beekeeping, rabbit farming, and sheep-goat farming is included, as well as the implementation of diplomas, higher technicians, and specialized courses in emerging areas such as chocolate making, coconut production, and the production of organic fertilizers.

"This cooperation will bear much fruit for the country, especially for young people and producers. We are committed to strengthening the academic initiatives that transform the sector," affirmed Galván. From his side, Reyes Arias valued the institutional approach and highlighted that this alliance will allow for the expansion of efforts in research, training, and community development. The activities of FEDA began in Matanzas de Puñal with the program "FEDA in your Community" and will continue in sectors such as El Ejido, in coordination with PROPEEP. In addition, the holding of an agricultural scientific congress and a technological fair focused on new trends in the sector is contemplated. As part of the tour, the authorities visited biotechnology laboratories, areas for breeding minor species, and hydroponic strawberry crops, where they highlighted the high technical level of the academy.
