Man stabs another to death in Santiago after an argument in an abandoned building

Santiago.- A 25-year-old man died this Monday morning after being stabbed during a confrontation in the Jardines del Este sector, behind the Ingenio Artriba, police authorities reported. The victim was identified as Frandy Volsilien, of Haitian nationality, who suffered a stab wound to the left side that caused his death, according to the acting medical examiner. A witness, identified as Jhony Rainivel, who knew the deceased, stated that he does not know the causes that originated the event, although he confirmed that both men were in the place at the time of the event. According to the preliminary report, the incident occurred in an abandoned building where the company Aguas Las Nubes previously operated. There, Volsilien and his aggressor, known only as Franklin, had a discussion that led to the fatal attack. After committing the act, the alleged murderer fled, so National Police officers are maintaining a search operation to find his whereabouts and bring him to justice.

In the scene, a machete was found next to the victim's body, evidence that is part of the investigative process opened by members of the Criminal Investigations Department (DICRIM) and the Public Ministry, who are seeking to clarify the exact circumstances of the event. The body was transferred to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) in Santiago, where the corresponding autopsy will be performed. The authorities reiterated their call to the citizenry to collaborate with any information that contributes to the location of the suspect.
