PANAMA. Dominican Republic's selection will face Panama on June 3rd in a friendly match that will serve as the final preparation for the Panamanian team before their participation in the 2026 World Cup.

The match will be played at the Rommel Fernández Gutiérrez Stadium and will mark the closing of the preparation phase at home for the team led by Thomas Christiansen, according to information from the Panamanian Football Federation. Panama will use this commitment as part of its preparation for the World Cup, in which it will debut on June 17 against Ghana, after having previously faced Brazil on May 31 in Rio de Janeiro. Regarding the history between both teams, Panama widely dominates with five victories in six matches, in addition to 11 goals scored against only three by the Dominicans, who have a draw in the series. According to the most recent FIFA ranking, Panama holds the 33rd position, while the Dominican Republic is in 143rd place, reflecting the current difference between both teams. The last clash between the two teams occurred in the qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, when Panama won with a score of 3-0 on June 8, 2021 at the Rod Carew Stadium.This friendly represents a new opportunity for the Dominican team to measure themselves against a rival of a higher competitive level and continue their growth process on the international stage.
