Brazil triumphs and is crowned champion at the South American Youth Games Panama 2026

PANAMA CITY. – The Brazilian delegation reaffirmed its regional hegemony by conquering the first place in the medal table at the South American Youth Games Panama 2026, after accumulating 58 gold medals and a total of 157 medals.

The Brazilian team once again imposed its dominance, especially standing out in swimming, a discipline in which it obtained 21 titles. With this result, it reaffirms its status as a powerhouse in South American youth sports. Venezuela finished in second place with 33 golds and 83 medals in total, excelling in weightlifting with six gold medals. Argentina completed the podium with 32 titles and 105 medals, driven by its strong performance in the pool, where it added 14 golds.

Figures that marked the competition

The great female protagonist of the competition was the Argentinian swimmer Agostina Hein, who signed a historic performance by winning nine gold medals and one silver, emerging as one of the main promises of the continent. For his part, the Brazilian Davi Vallim emerged as the most outstanding male figure, after conquering eight gold medals and one silver, leading his country's dominance in aquatic competitions.

Record participation and legacy

The event brought together more than 2,000 athletes from across the region, establishing itself as a key platform for the development of youth sports and as a prelude to the Olympic cycle.
