SANTO DOMINGO.- The long-awaited day has arrived for thousands of Kany García fans in the Dominican Republic. The renowned Puerto Rican singer-songwriter is performing tonight at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium in Santo Domingo with her show “Puerta Abierta Tour”, a tour inspired by her most recent record production, “Puerta Abierta”, the tenth studio album of her career and a work that celebrates her identity, her Caribbean roots, and her personal history. The presentation marks a transcendental moment in the artist's career, as it becomes the first stadium she fills in her entire career. The concert, which is expected to bring together more than 20,000 fans, also represents the beginning of a new stage for García, who has consolidated a special connection with the Dominican public over the years. During a conversation with De Último Minuto in Puerto Rico, prior to the release of the album “Puerta Abierta”, the performer of “Soy yo”, expressed the emotion she felt about arriving in Santo Domingo with this show. “Dominican family, my first stadium and it will be in Santo Domingo, we are going with a kind of party that you cannot miss”, the artist stated, referring to the importance this presentation has for her. Dominican Republic will not only witness a personal milestone for Kany García, but it also marks the beginning of a new stadium stage of the world tour that will take her through important cities in Europe, Latin America, the United States, and Puerto Rico for the rest of 2026.

The general producer of the show, Gamal Haché, held a meeting with the press on Friday at the Quisqueya Stadium, where he presented the details of the impressive staging prepared for the occasion. There he highlighted the magnitude of the production and assured that the public will enjoy a visual and musical experience at the height of the relevance that this concert has for the artist. Haché also revealed that in private conversations with Kany, the singer had expressed how significant it was to return to the Dominican Republic to star in one of the most important concerts of her career. In that sense, the producer recalled that the artist has built a relationship of constant growth with the country, moving from more intimate stages to important venues such as the National Theater and Altos de Chavón, until today reaching a stadium in front of more than 20,000 people. The expectation surrounding the show is also marked by the surprises that could be part of the night. The concert coincides with the Mother's Day celebration weekend in the Dominican Republic, so an evening full of emotions, special guests, and memorable moments for the attendees is expected. According to the production, the show will feature an ambitious staging, scenographic resources, visual effects, and a technical display designed to exceed the audience's expectations. Kany's arrival in Santo Domingo occurs just a month after the release of "Puerta Abierta", an album that the artist herself has defined as one of the most personal projects of her career. "Puerta Abierta I think is more of a DNA album, it's an album that has a lot of Puerto Rican, Caribbean sonority, much more of the sounds I grew up with," she explained during her meeting with De Último Minuto in Puerto Rico. One of the most special moments of this artistic stage has been the recording of "Amor Bonito", a song included in the album and made together with maestro Juan Luis Guerra, a collaboration that represented one of the singer-songwriter's greatest dreams. "If I had known it was going to be as easy as it was, I would have done it sooner... the difficult part was more on my side, finding the song and the moment. When you admire someone so much, sometimes you don't even know how to approach them," García confessed about the process that culminated in the expected duet. Although it has not been confirmed by the production, rumors suggest that Juan Luis Guerra could be one of the guest artists tonight at Kany's concert to sing with her their emotional collaboration. After tonight's concert in Santo Domingo, the artist will continue with an extensive international tour that will take her through cities in Italy, Switzerland, Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Ecuador, Colombia, Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay, the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, and Puerto Rico, thus consolidating one of the most important and ambitious stages of her artistic career.
