Espaillat.- The National Emergency and Security Attention System 911 coordinated the inter-institutional response to a traffic accident that occurred on the Moca-Cabarete highway, near the area known as La Cumbre, in the municipality of San Víctor, Espaillat province.
The incident involved a bus carrying a group of people, including children and adults, who were returning from an outing. As a result of the accident, multiple injuries were reported and significant traffic congestion occurred in the area.
In the scene, 10 ambulances from the Directorate of Emergency Extrahospitalary Attention Services (DAEH), a unit of the National Police and DIGESETT are deployed; as well as two units of the Fire Department. The coordination of the operation has been focused on rescue efforts, medical care, transfer of those affected and traffic facilitation, in charge of DIGESETT.
So far, 18 people have been taken to health centers, while three fatalities have been confirmed at the scene, including the bus driver.
