Abinader on the celebration of 5 years of Government: "It's not time to celebrate, but to work"

Santo Domingo. – The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, requested the Executive Directorate of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) to suspend the political activity that was scheduled for this Thursday, August 22, arguing that the current circumstances of the country require focus, responsibility and action, not celebrations.

In a communication addressed to the members of the PRM's high body, the president expressed that "the true meaning of leadership is to carry the concerns of the people on our shoulders and transform them into hope. Today, what the nation asks of us is to remain focused on solutions."

Abinader made it clear that the commitment to the Dominican people is above any partisan agenda. "The time for politics will come; today is the time for work. And because of that work, the nation will know that we have not failed it," he maintained.

The Head of State emphasized that politics only has value when it serves the daily well-being of citizens, and that this must be the priority of all public servants and leaders of the PRM. Therefore, he called for "redoubling the silent, persevering, and effective work that honors the trust placed in us."

Finally, President Abinader stated that the opportune moment to commemorate and celebrate will come, but that today "we must walk alongside our people, shoulder to shoulder, in the search for solutions."
