Valverde, RD. – Members of the Dominican Republic Army (ERD), detained a vehicle in which ten (10) undocumented Haitian migrants were being transported, during an operation carried out in the Motocross sector of the municipality of Mao, Valverde province. The occupied vehicle is a Kia car, K5 model, black color, license plate A680030, whose driver fled upon noticing the military presence, abandoning the car with the foreigners inside. Among those detained are 6 men, 3 women and 1 minor. According to intelligence information, the foreigners would have been handed over to the driver by alleged undocumented migrants traffickers, identified by the aliases "Coco", "Fraylin" and "Colón", members of a network called Association of Pueblo Nuevo-Mao, repeat offenders in these illicit activities.You may be interested in: In operations in the Northwest Line, the Army detains 46 undocumented Haitians
The detainees and the seized vehicle were transferred to the headquarters of the 4th Infantry Brigade of the ERD, to carry out the corresponding legal process.
