Man escapes from Najayo prison; Police activate their search

Santo Domingo,.- A man escaped from the Najayo Men's Correction and Rehabilitation Center (CCR), the National Police reported this Wednesday, which assured that it is actively searching for him, considering him "dangerous". The National Police, through the Fugitive Search and Capture Department of the Central Investigation Directorate (Dicrim), reported that it is maintaining an active location operation for the capture of Johansy Chacón Jesús, alias Buquí.

The fugitive is serving a sentence for rape, association of wrongdoers, robbery, and illegal possession of firearms. According to investigations, Chacon Jesus is considered "dangerous" and is "heavily armed," therefore, citizens are urged not to attempt to capture him on their own and, instead, to offer any information that may contribute to his location, confidentially, through the National Police hotline or by approaching the nearest detachment. The institution assures that it will spare no effort until it finds this individual, so that he can answer to Justice for the acts he is accused of and his evasion of the penitentiary system.
