Santo Domingo.- The director of the Office for Transportation Reorganization (OPRET), Rafael Antonio Santos Pérez, confirmed that the cost of the fare on the Santo Domingo Metro will remain unchanged, despite the entry into operation of the six-car trains on Line 1.
"So far, there are no changes. Everything will remain the same. The Government is really studying the possibility of establishing a unified rate, which will be announced later," he specified.

In statements to the program Esto No Es Radio Show, during the inauguration of the entry of the wagons, the official explained that the Government is evaluating the possibility of implementing a unified fare for public transport, but that this decision will be communicated later. The measure to expand the capacity of the trains seeks to reduce long lines at stations and improve the user experience during peak hours.
