Punta Cana.- The president of Cabarete Tango, Leonardo Wehe, announced an investment strategy to position Cabarete as a premium tourist destination in the Dominican Republic, during his participation in the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE) 2026 fair.
Wehe reported that, in just three years, the group has consolidated an investment portfolio exceeding 100 million dollars, accompanied by an expansion plan that contemplates more than 150 million additional dollars in the next three to four years. "The focus has been clear: to identify opportunities where others haven't looked and to develop a destination with a differentiated proposal," expressed the entrepreneur, highlighting Cabarete's unique conditions for water sports such as surfing, kitesurfing, and windsurfing, which positions it as a world-class attraction. The executive explained that this vision has allowed us to attract an exclusive segment of the international market, even managing to sell properties at prices higher than consolidated tourist destinations such as Cap Cana and Casa de Campo. He also emphasized that the development model promoted by Cabarete Tango is committed to integration with the community, promoting sustainable and authentic tourism that highlights the Dominican cultural identity, unlike other more closed destinations. You may be interested in: DR projects more than 12 million visitors amid the DATE 2026 boost
