Mexico.- The death of former beauty queen Carolina Flores Gómez, 27 years old, has caused consternation in Mexico, after she was found dead in her apartment in the Polanco neighborhood, in Mexico City. Everything indicates that both Erika and her son Alejandro, Carolina's husband, were present in the last minutes of the model's life.

The young woman, who won the Miss Teen Universe Baja California 2017 pageant, was found on April 15th after an emergency call alerted health services. Upon arrival at the scene, paramedics confirmed that she showed no vital signs. According to preliminary reports, Flores Gómez had a gunshot wound to the head. However, one of the elements that most intrigues the authorities is that neither the building's security personnel nor nearby residents reported having heard any shots, which has made it difficult to reconstruct the events. Local media indicates that his mother-in-law was in the apartment at the time of the incident, making her a key figure in the process. So far, no arrests or formal charges have been reported.

The impact of the news has spread to Ensenada, the young woman's hometown, where loved ones have expressed their grief. The El Tesoro del Saber school, where she completed her initial studies, published a message of condolences highlighting her approachable and cheerful character. As investigations continue, the case maintains public attention and reignites concern about violence against women in urban environments, pending clarification of what happened by the authorities.
