According to reports, the teenager had insisted on going out to bathe in the rain, as he usually did, even though she asked him not to. Moments later, the tragedy occurred. "I was here... and he told me he wanted to bathe. I told him no, it had just rained. Whenever it rained, that child wanted to go out. But it all happened so fast," he narrated. García described Yelian as a respectful, humble, and affectionate child. “He was an angel,” he said. The youngest was in secondary school and had plans to start his studies at the Polytechnic La Integral. The teenager will be waked at his residence, while the family and community try to come to terms with the tragedy that has saddened Palavé. "One is with their child, and suddenly... they are no longer there. It is possible to go on, yes, but it is very hard. It's as if something is torn from within you," the mother lamented. The event, which also claimed the life of another minor and left a third hospitalized, has shocked the residents of the area.
