Santo Domingo. – After being sworn in by the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, as president of the Board of Directors of the Dominican Petroleum Refinery (Refidomsa), Dr. Samuel Pereyra Rojas committed this Monday to promote a close, modern management focused on the technological transformation of the institution.
In a meeting with the press, Pereyra thanked for the support received in his five years as executive president of Banco de Reservas and expressed his interest in maintaining that link in his new responsibility.
The new president of Refidomsa announced that his vision will be focused on replicating the management model he applied at Banreservas:
“I come the same way as I did at Banco de Reservas, although at different times, because you know, we entered in the middle of a pandemic, but at this moment when the economy is already completely recovered due to the great work that our President Luis Abinader has done, we come to transform the Dominican Petroleum Refinery.”
Among his priorities, he mentioned strengthening the bond with clients, boosting innovation, and modernizing the plant: "Technological transformations must be verified here; there is a team that has been working for many years, and we have to see how we can adapt to the new transformations."
Pereyra also highlighted the role of the refinery within the framework of international agreements: "You know that the President of the Republic himself has an agreement with Guyana and we are working with the Refinery; there are new oil exploration agreements being developed in the country, and I believe that the refinery can play a preponderant role in these aspects along with the private sector."
Finally, he assured that his management will prioritize good service, a positive work environment, and respect for the environment.
